Third Technology Release of 2026 Deepens Performance Intelligence and Advisor Decisioning across the Envestnet Ecosystem
BERWYN, Pa., Sept. 17, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Envestnet, the leading Adaptive WealthTech company, today announced a new set of enhancements to its Wealth Data Platform (WDP), as part of the firm’s third technology release of 2026 (R3 2026). The updates replace static peer average benchmarking with dynamic, contextual performance comparisons, introduce new advisor opportunity intelligence for asset managers, add more flexible insight exploration tools, surface new insights for advisor-directed portfolios, and lay the groundwork for embedded reporting across the ecosystem.
Adoption rates for the Wealth Data Platform underscore its value. As of August 1, 2026, there has been an 82% increase in users as well as a 31% increase in firms using WDP year over year. Envestnet has also seen a 102% increase in WDP page views during that same time period.
“For years, benchmarking meant comparing a firm or advisor to a static, one-size-fits-all average that didn’t reflect the realities of their business,” said Chris Todd, CEO of Envestnet. “With this release, we’re giving firms the ability to see performance in context – by segment, by geography, by advisor behavior – so leaders can go beyond observing data to acting on it. That same philosophy carries through everything we rolled out in R3, from opportunity intelligence for asset managers to the new insights that help advisors spot the accounts that need a second look.”

Smarter Benchmarking and Performance Intelligence
Envestnet continues to advance performance intelligence across the Wealth Data Platform with expanded dynamic benchmarking capabilities, helping firms compare performance across business characteristics and geographic markets rather than against a single, static industry average.
- Personalized Peer Comparisons: Expanded dynamic benchmarking capabilities provide more contextual and personalized peer comparisons.
- New Benchmarking Dimensions: New benchmarking dimensions enable firms to analyze performance across business characteristics and geographic markets.
- Advisor Country Segmentation: Benchmarking support now extends across U.S. and Canadian advisor populations.
- Deeper Performance Views: Expanded performance analytics now include quartile, median, and risk-bucket performance views.
- Segment-Level Visibility: Home office leaders gain additional visibility into top- and bottom-performing advisor segments through dedicated analytical views.
More Flexible Insight Exploration
New Envestnet Insights exploration enhancements help advisors and home office users move more fluidly through organizational data, making it easier to identify trends and opportunities at every level of the business.
- Firm Hierarchy Filtering: Expanded support for firm hierarchy via filtering supports analysis by branch, region, and territory.
- Resizable Insight Panels: Resizable Insights panels improve the ability to review and compare details.
- Streamlined Navigation: Enhanced navigation and filtering help firms operationalize Insights across organizational structures.
New Insights for Advisor-Directed Portfolio Management
Envestnet has also expanded its advisor intelligence capabilities with two new Insights that help firms identify advisor-managed accounts requiring closer attention. The new capabilities spotlight portfolios exhibiting persistent underperformance despite active management and accounts with little to no discretionary trading activity over the past year, enabling advisors to uncover optimization opportunities, strengthen client engagement, and deliver more proactive portfolio oversight.
- High Mutual Fund and Exchange Traded Fund Allocation with Weak Performance: Identifies advisor-managed accounts that are heavily concentrated in mutual funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) while also underperforming relative to peers with similar risk profiles. This insight helps firms pinpoint portfolios that may appear passive despite being actively managed, creating opportunities to reassess investment strategies and explore alternative portfolio solutions.
- No Discretionary Trades in 12+ Months: Highlights advisor-managed accounts where no discretionary buy or sell transactions have occurred for at least one year. By surfacing accounts with limited management activity, the Insight helps advisors identify clients who may benefit from a review of their investment objectives, portfolio positioning, or service strategy.
“These new Insights help advisors see the accounts that need a second look, right away when proactively addressing issues can make the biggest impact,” said Dave Lieberman, Principal Director of Product for Wealth Data Solutions at Envestnet. “Whether it’s a portfolio that looks passive despite being actively managed, or an account that hasn’t seen a trade in over a year, we want advisors spending their time on the relationships and portfolios that need it most.”
Embedded Reporting and Workflow Modernization
Envestnet also continues to modernize advisor workflows by laying the groundwork for embedded reporting experiences that bring insights closer to the point of decision-making. Advisors increasingly want to consume intelligence in the context of the work they’re already doing, whether through dashboards, opportunity workflows, or embedded experiences across the platform. The R3 release establishes the foundation for that vision, with additional capabilities expected to roll out over the coming quarters.
- Foundation for In-Platform Reporting: Foundation established for in-platform report consumption.
- Future Reporting Experiences: Future reporting experiences will allow users to view reports directly within dashboards instead of launching separate exports.
- Reduced Friction: Enhancements continue Envestnet’s strategy of reducing friction between insight discovery and action.
Expanding Intelligence for Asset Managers
Building on its advisor-decisioning strategy introduced earlier this year, Envestnet has strengthened predictive intelligence capabilities that help asset managers identify advisors most likely to engage with personalized investment solutions and alternative investment opportunities:
- Propensity-Driven Intelligence: Advanced, propensity-driven intelligence helps asset managers identify advisors most likely to generate flows into personalized high-net-worth solutions and alternative investments.
- Advisor-Level Opportunity Grids: New advisor-level opportunity grids provide greater transparency into model-driven recommendations.
- Scalable Segmentation: Enhanced segmentation allows firms to operationalize growth strategies at scale.
