Abnormal AI, the AI-native behavior security company, today announced it is pursuing its FedRAMP Class D (High) certification, the U.S. government’s most rigorous cloud security baseline, building on its existing FedRAMP Class C (Moderate) certification achieved in April 2025. Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA), the nation’s largest public power company and Abnormal’s authorizing agency for FedRAMP Class C (Moderate), will once again serve as the sponsor for this milestone.
FedRAMP Class D (High) is reserved for systems where a security breach could result in severe or catastrophic impact to government operations, assets, or individuals. As agencies accelerate cloud modernization and face increasingly sophisticated, human-targeted attacks, more are evaluating solutions that meet this threshold. Abnormal’s pursuit is a direct response to that demand: federal customers require AI-native security at the highest compliance level, and email continues to be among the most common initial attack vectors across government networks.
Abnormal’s approach to this security control uplift builds directly on its existing Abnormal Gov environment, uplifting its current infrastructure to meet the additional controls required at the higher baseline. The company has an audit scheduled as part of its FedRAMP Class D (High) pursuit, with the audit representing its next milestone towards certification.
The pursuit of FedRAMP Class D (High) also aligns directly with the current administration’s June 2, 2026 executive order, “Promoting Advanced Artificial Intelligence Innovation and Security”, which directs federal agencies to prioritize AI-enabled cyber defense and expand access to cybersecurity tools across government, state and local authorities, and critical infrastructure operators; a mandate Abnormal’s behavioral AI platform is built to support.
