United By Nature and Local Partners Highlight Water Solutions while Calling for Action and Investments
MIAMI, FL, UNITED STATES, August 10, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — United By Nature is concluding its cross-country campaign to protect America’s waters with a series of community events across Florida, bringing together local partners and residents to celebrate the people and places leading the way on water conservation.
The Great American Water Road Trip is a 60-day cross-country journey documenting local solutions to water challenges in more than 30 communities. Along the way, more than nine thousand Americans have already signed the campaign van and the online petition calling for leaders to protect the nation’s waters.
Behind the wheel of this 8,000-mile trip is Blair Carlyle, a Florida influencer known to more than one million followers as “Uncle Pappy.” His inspirational videos unite viewers of all backgrounds around a shared love of nature and the places Americans call home.

While in Florida, United By Nature will spotlight the ecosystems and wildlife that make the state’s waters unlike anywhere else. Carlyle will lead a community paddle at Silver Springs, visit Christopher Gillette’s Wildlife Sanctuary in Putnam County, and speak at the final reception at Gramps Getaway in Key Biscayne with partners such as Oceana and Miami Waterkeeper.
The campaign’s arrival in Florida comes as communities across the country face mounting water challenges. Florida’s waters are experiencing growing pressures from nutrient pollution, harmful algal blooms, declining spring flows, sea level rise, and proposals to expand offshore oil drilling in the Gulf.
At the same time, Florida is demonstrating how large-scale conservation can restore both ecosystems and communities. The Everglades Restoration Project, the largest ecosystem restoration effort in U.S. history, is accelerating through new state and federal commitments to restore the natural flow of water from Lake Okeechobee south through the Everglades. The state is also investing in nature-based resilience solutions like mangroves, oyster reefs, and salt marshes that strengthen coastlines while improving habitat and water quality.

While this road trip concludes in Florida, the movement to protect America’s waters and natural resources is just beginning.
