WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Keith Myers Scholarship to Combat Bigotry and Hate officially announces that applications are now being accepted for its 2027 scholarship program. Established by Keith Myers, the scholarship recognizes undergraduate students who demonstrate thoughtful leadership and a commitment to addressing prejudice, discrimination, and intolerance through practical, community-focused solutions.
Created to encourage meaningful dialogue and inspire future changemakers, the Keith Myers Scholarship to Combat Bigotry and Hate invites eligible undergraduate students across the United States to submit an original essay exploring strategies to confront bigotry and foster greater inclusion. Through this initiative, Keith Myers continues a longstanding commitment to community service, leadership, and creating opportunities that encourage positive social impact.
The scholarship is open to undergraduate students currently enrolled at accredited colleges and universities in the United States. Applicants must be U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents and maintain a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 or its equivalent. Employees of organizations affiliated with Keith Myers, as well as their immediate family members, are not eligible to participate.
As part of the application process, students are asked to submit a 500–1,000-word essay responding to the following prompt:
“In an increasingly polarized world, bigotry and hate often manifest in subtle and overt ways. Describe a specific instance of bigotry you have witnessed or studied, and propose a comprehensive strategy that young leaders can implement to combat this issue and foster inclusivity within their communities.”
The essay requirement is designed to encourage critical thinking, informed analysis, and constructive leadership. Rather than focusing solely on identifying problems, the scholarship emphasizes practical ideas that can contribute to stronger, more inclusive communities.
Applications must be submitted by March 15, 2027, and the scholarship recipient will be announced on April 15, 2027. Completed applications should include the applicant’s full name, current college or university, and major in the body of the submission email. Essays must be attached as either a PDF or Microsoft Word document using the required file naming format: Lastname_Firstname_KMScholarship. All submissions must be emailed to apply@keithmyersscholarship.com with the subject line “Scholarship Application – [Applicant Name].”
